Happy Mewmorial Day everyone. Over here in poi land it has been overcast and nice and cool for the holiday. Hawaii is so beautiful, but it can get hot in the summer. Since it was cooler it was a purrfect cat rest day. Mom just got home from work and Merlin is playing with her by hiding in the big pool in the litter room. He jumps out andgrabs at the curtain. ~Shadow and Ko Ko

It is a very fun game. I suggest all poodies try it, just don't pull down the curtain, that makes Moms mad. I did grab the rug on the side of the pool and hide it in the pool. What fun. Mom is a fun 'bean. ~Merlin

Merlin is a very funny boy. ~'bean Mom

We had fresh carrots, broccoli, and peapods today, which is good because Mom thought she would be funny and put wasabi balls in our food mix. They are scattered alll over the cage right now. We refuse to pick them up. NOT funny Mom. ~Rodentia.

Look at my fat Fig. He is a cute, sweet fat Fig... and very squishy to hug. Rat Mom Posted by Hello

I am really tired of everyone calling me a fat Fig. Fluffy people, I'm Fluffy ~H. P. N. (Fig) Posted by Hello

I am such a lucky little brudder. Merlin, my big brudder, lets me snuggle against him sometimes when he lays in his spot on the couch. See? ~Ko Ko Posted by Hello

Well here we are sharing the best napping spot in the house, the couch. I like to lay on my back and stretch out. Ko Ko likes to snuggle. Sometimes that can get really annoying. ~Merlin Posted by Hello

Hmmmm, look someone has left the door to the condo open and I think we need to investigate what is going on. Little Josephine is missing and we need to find her before the big furry kitty does. Let's see what we can do. Hello Mom, have you seen Josephine? ~Aeowen and Narnia Posted by Hello

I am little Josephine, known as a dumbo eared rat. Here I am sitting on this big monster's shoulder. I like to be held by the small Kinsey. She is little like me.  Posted by Hello

Today as I was laying on the not really there table trying to get cool, Mom came sneaking, yes sneaking up with the flashy box. She was all smiley like there was something on the ceiling that was very funny. I'm not sure what. I do know that I tried to reach for her to play, but the not really there table wouldn't let me. Funny how that works. One of these days I'm going to figure it out. Why I can see my Mom or her hands underneath (or the octopus even) but I can't grab them. Really unfair I think. Posted by Hello

This is a picture of my belly (not funny Mom). I think the angle makes me look a bit larger than I am. Mom says nope, that is about right.  Posted by Hello

I kept looking up to see what Mom was so facinated with, but couldn't really see anything but the ceiling. I don't know, but when she came out from under the table she was laughing and saying how cute my paws were. I told her thank you. ~Merlin Posted by Hello

Good morning. Boy has it been warm here, warmer than usual Mom says. I went back to check out the 'puter, which isn't working right. I didn't find anything but a little seed to munch on. So I'm not really sure what is wrong, but the clicky letters are working. It is time for Mom to clean our condo so I'm keeping little Josephine busy. She is a baby. At first, I was a little jealous, but she is okay. ~Narnia  Posted by Hello

After a breakfast of banana, apple, and cheerios, we decided it is much to hot to type on the 'puter, so we are off for our baths and naps. Goodnight ~Rodentia

Merlin's Perfect Poodie Morning

It is a VERY nice day today here in poi land. There is drizzly rain, which will probably give way to sunshine in a little while. That will create some steam to rise up off of the plants and pavement and boy will it be muggy.

But this morning was the best. I got to snuggle up between Mom and Kinsey kitten and get lots and lots of poodie lovins. I purred and purred and Mom and Kinsey kitten scritched and scratched and petted my fur. They talked to me too and let me join on their morning conversation.

I loved it. So did Mom and Kinsey kitten. I could tell.

Salsa's AM Adventure

Today I really wanted to come out of the condo and spend some time with Mom and Kinsey. This is pretty unusual for me since the morning is for eating grooming and getting ready for naptime after nocturnal rousing. Well, Mom heard me and asked if I wanted to go with her to drop Kinsey off at school.

I said sure I wanted to go, so Mom got my little blue snuggle sack and off we all went. It was raining outside-not a lot, but enough to get rat whiskers wet. The noise from the big growling machines was loud too.

We got into our own big growling machine and Mom put me in the front window so I could see out. Rats can't see Mom, well barely see that is. We have really, really bad eyesight. So I didn't want to ride in the window.

I rode on Kinsey's lap and snuggled. Then when we stopped and Kinsey got out. I thought I could go with her, but Mom said no. So I crawled into my snuggle sack that was hanging around Mom's neck and boggled a bit, but she still said no. Then we went home and I rode into the big condo on Mom's shoulder. My snuggle sack was right there just in case I needed to get inside, but I didn't.

Then I got in my rat condo and Mom gave me a treat for being such a good boy. Now I'm washing up and going to bed. What a fun, but tiring adventure for a little rodent like me.

I, Ko Ko, promise Mom, I will try not to chase the vermin. Cross my poodie heart ???? (Merlin said to say that) and hope to cry, loudly.  Posted by Hello

This is the last picture I took of Nicci while he was healthy. It was taken at Salsa and Pip's birthday party. As you can see he enjoyed the pumpkin pie immensely. I miss you NicNic and will never forget you little one ~Nicodemus's Mom and friend Posted by Hello

Little Nicodemus Ratticus peeking out of tube Posted by Hello

I am afraid I have a confession to make. I Kao' Ko Kung, newly adopted little brudder and poodie for Dad, has a weekness for vermin. Not in a good way, but in a stalking kind of want to munch on them way. It is uncontrollable, the urge. Mom says she is going to send me to Vermins Anonymous if I don't stop. ~KoKo Posted by Hello

Thank you all for your thoughts and condolences on Nicodemus Ratticus. Some of us miss him (the other vermin) but Mom really misses him and we are trying to show our understanding of her feelings. Poodies are really good at that. We are giving her lots of snuggles. ~Merlin oh yeah and the other two

Today, our little Nicodemus Ratuicus passed on over the rainbow bridge. His health had been deteriorating rapidly since his second round of antibiotics, which left him with blood in his urine. I believe they were simply too much on his little body. His quality of life was slipping away, but he passed peacefully. We are going to miss you little one. I loved you NicNic. ~Jane Posted by Hello

It was love at first sight with Nicodemus and I. I love you so much little guy-you where my fuzzy angel without wings. ~Jane  Posted by Hello

Intensely curious, Nicci got into many things throughout his to-short life, like any self-respecting rat does.  Posted by Hello

Always happy, Nics smile could brighten anyone's day, rat or 'bean. I'm going to miss you so much Nicci. ~Jane Posted by Hello

From the beginning, Nicci had the sweetest little face and the calmest attitude. He loved people and loved for me to take him out for playtime. ~Jane Posted by Hello

Nicci loved to wash up. He was a very neat, tidy and clean rat. Washing up was part of his play time always, and he enjoyed sitting in my arms to do it. ~Jane Posted by Hello

On the 'puter there is this webplace that Mom visits called an aquarimum here in Hawaii. Well they have a camera that shows live updates of some of the animals living there. We thought we would show you the Hawaiian monk seals laying around - smart guys - in the sun. See siestas are very important. The animal world knows this... pass the news...~The Poi Gang Posted by Hello
