Sorry I said Tunkinese. I meant Tonkinese.

Here is the new baby kitty Ko Ko who would like to say hello. I don't know if you can see his blue, blue eyes, but they are there. He is still very skittish. I (Merlin and Shadow and now Ko Ko's Mom) was lucky enough to rescue this little guy from the Hawaiian Humane Society. I don't know who would give him up. He is starting to fit in just fine, although Shadow is still hissing. Merlin is willing to give him some space and maybe strike up a conversation one of these days. Ko Ko has proven to be a good little house cat so far. He likes to climb, but that is normal for his breed I believe. The HHS said he is a purebred. He is not show quality however from what the Tunkinese website said, which is perfectly fine with me since I just want to welcome him into our family. He is very sweet and likes to sit on laps and purr and knead. He has big feet and claws. Posted by Hello

I think Ko Ko is going to be a good size cat. I guess Tunkinese are bigger than Siamese? I'm not sure; I'm still researching. Posted by Hello

Mom got ANOTHER cat, unbelievable. I think Dad should make her stay inside just like we have too, to keep her out of trouble. ..another cat...I'm not speaking to her, or the new guy.

Our Mom was telling us about how a long, long time ago, like a million years or something, people would paint animals on the walls of caves. Some of these paintings have been found in the modern world and now we can see them. We all discussed this and decided that this was how people used to decorate. What else could they do? Then we wondered if there were any paintings of rats..or cats...? Mom said she didn't know for sure. She also wasn't sure about the home decorating idea, but considered it anyway.  Posted by Hello

Happy Birthday to us, Happy Birthday to us, Happy Birthday to us, Happy Birthday to us.

We are 1 year old now. We are one year old now. We are one year old now. We are one year old now.

Give us more pie, give us more pie, give us more pumkin pie, give us more pie.

The kitty cat stinks, the kitty cat stinks, the kitty cat stinks, the kitty cat stinks.

~Pip and Salsa

As a poodie who knows the finer things in life, I have come to the conclusion that I need more attention. The flowers are nice Mom, the food is good, the cat box is scooped, the water is fresh, but Mom, I need your lap here whenever I want to sit on it. I feel a tad neglected with you gone.

PS the vermin did not deserve the minipumkin pie you gave them tonight. The have been bad.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all you poodie, rats, dogs, and birds out there, plus all the other animals we share this great green Earth with ~~ Posted by Hello

Mom bought a big boquet of the red exotic flowers for me. She even put the vase by my bediby basket so I could enjoy it. I guess my cold sholder worked, that and throwing up on her dresser the other night. My Mommy loves me even though she is gone sometimes. ~Merlin

Mom has been at work and I have been home alone during the day. Add to that the fact that it has been COLD here for Hawaii, low 60s and I'm lonely and FREEZING. And I wish my Mom was here to snuggle with during the day, or at least Kinsey kitten.

I am spending a lot of time in my bediby basket with my catnip blankie. Even the mongoose out back was lying on the concrete of the basketball court to warm up this morning.

The vermin are so cold they stay snuggled up together in their little beds and boxes and floof up if they come out.

My Mommy went to somewheres last night with Daddy, on what they called a "date". But before she leftes she sat down by my home place and typed some on the 'puter. While she was sitting there I thought she smelled really good and soes I wanted a piece of her to snuggle with. Her top fur was hanging down by the cage and I could barely reaches it. I pulled it into my home place a little tiny bit at a time. And about the time I had a good enough amounts to take down and snuggle, the fur thing got caught and Mom looked down. She goes "On no baby Narnia. You can't do that." But she laughed at me as she pulled her top cover back out. I still want to snuggle with somethings. ~Baby Narnia

Awhile back I managed to get out of my home and do a little exploring. Now I don't think it was on the people's agenda to let me out, but little Kinsey dropped me by accident and I figured as long as I had the opportunity, I would see what is out there. So I started under the couch. I guess I ended under the couch too, but I have a very fun game while under there. Mom decided that it was time for me to go in, but I really didn't want to. She even put my boyfriend Nicci down by the couch to try and persuade me to come out. No go.

So then she got the broom and gently moved it under the couch in a sweep so she could nudge me to the edge; however, every time the broom got close, I hoped over it and ran back to the top to start over again. Then I would run with the broom handle and hop over it and start again. We did this over and over; it was soooo much fun. I had a big smile on my face it was such a fun game. But I don't think Mom thought it was that much fun for some reason. ~Aeowen

I couldn't say it before in case she read the blog, but we got our Aunt Mary a copy of Max's book for her birthday. She opened it today and said she would start reading it right away. ~Merlin and Shadow

Max Thompson's book, The PsychoKitty Speaks Out, Diary of a Mad Housecat, is one of the best kitty books I have read. Mom enjoyed it too. I could tell by how much she laughed out loud while she read it. I empathized with Max as he had to suffer through "moving" since I have gone through two of those, "hunger" having experienced the bottom of the bowl syndrome, and the language barriers to be found between two species who do not communicate telepathically (human skulls are very thick, it takes a LOT of staring). All in all, Max effectively describes how frustrating it can be living in a world run by humans. Proof positive that Douglas Adams had it correct except the world was obviously designed by cats and not vermin. The great experiement continues and hopefully Max will chronical the wonders of life for many more books.

Mom and I have been reading Max's book. Can you believe someone complained about blogs that have nothing but pictures of and cat thoughts on them? Well, I have to agree with Max. Excuse the h*ll out of us. Really. Don't read the blogs if you don't want to. We have just as much right to freedom of speech as you. Check your political stuff. The first amemendment. The freedom to read or not to read others freedom to speak (write). We are Americans. We demand our rights. We salute the red, white, and blue when we see it. We eat American cat food. We live in a free country, that means as bean companions too. We even have sherrif and deputy and Purrsident cats people, also, authors, singers, composers, decorators, healers. We are what makes our part of America complete.

I am in love with Aeowen. ~Nic

Lately Mom has been leaving the front door of the condo open to catch the cross breeze. Well this leaves a nice view for me of the neighbors as they go about their business. Now the sociable thing to do is say hello. So I do. Everytime one of our neighbors walks by, I say a friendly aloha. But today, Mom got after me for "whinning" out the screen door. I don't "whine". My voice is a little high pitched. Mom calls it my baby voice, but the neighbors don't seem to mind. They always look and some even say hi back. ~Merlin

It is midnight and there is a party going full swing in the vermin house. If I made noise like that, I would get yelled at. Those guys sleep all day and party all night. And one of them, I won't name names (Salsa) had vermin gas. He was letting them right and left. As a cat, I have to say, normally we only let one or two at a time. ~Merlin

I am Salsa hear me ROAR!!!

Kinsey kitten fell at that place she goes to during the day, skul or something it is called. Mom said she was doing PE and fell and hurt her arm. Poor Kinsey kitten. Merlin and I are taking care of her becausse when Mom brought her home, Kinsey had a big, blue hard thing wrapped around her arm so it can't move at all. It looks very uncomfortable, but has an interesting smell. I checked it out and put some Shadow smell on it for Kinsey kitten to make her feel better. ~Shadow

I had a vet appointment again today. ANOTHER 20 DAYS OF MEDICINE. I had better recieve lots of cream of wheat and cheese and chocolate chips with this. ~Nicodemus

Mom has is in her head that she wants to take professional looking photos of the eight of us for Christmas cards this year. Yes, she is thinking about Christmas already. Now I don't know if you have ever considered getting rats and cats in the same photo, but it's not going to happen!!! And I believe I speak for the vermin here too.

HAPPY FELINE APPRECIATION DAY fellow poodies.

Feline power!!!!

~Merlin and Shadow

Woohoo, today I received Maxs' book. I can't wait to read it. After Mom got over the surprise of seeing it arrive in the mail, she admitted she is interested in reading it too. I may let her if she is really nice to me on Feline Appreciation Day.
