Bad Bunny Burns Report-26 Mar 2006

Rabbie doing puzzles and eating lettuce.
Dear Fellow Fluffies,

We have new very noisy babies here that have moved into an apartment over my hutch. So I hear the squeaking a lot. Mom says there are 9 of them, and they are a rat family-Mom, Dad, and little ones. They lost 1 of there babies the first night, but all of the others seem really healthy. We welcome them to the Poiland Clan.

I very nicely tried one of Mom's kisses the other night. Not a smooch kiss, but a brown kiss, in a purple wrapper. I very nicely picked just one from the bowl, moved the paper from it and tried a bite. After I chewed it for awhile, I decided it was not for me. Mom said it was chocolate and her favorite, so I very nicely offered her the rest of the bowl.

Then Mom gave me a small red "bean" to try; she said it was a "jelly bean". I licked it and put it in my mouth and spit it back out. I don't care for jelly bean either.

I still prefer Mom's book covers. And I love to sit with her on the couch. I do my biggest binkies on the couch when Mom puts down my blankie and some salad and then sits down and we watch the box together. Sometimes Fig comes out with us and we all sit together. Fig is pretty cool for a small, smelly little furry thing with no ears. And Ko Ko tries to steal my blankie.

I chewed the numbers on the "remote". Only one is almost falling off though, and only if you push on it just right. The others just have bite marks on them.

So that is about all of the news from me right now. Have a hoppin' new week and binkies to all.

Here they are for their first photo op, just a couple hours old. Philippa and about half of her new little kits.  Posted by Picasa

Wow....

We have some very happy if really surprising news....

There are new little squeaks in our home. About a month or so ago, Poi Mom Jane picked up two new little ratties. She thought they were both boys, but wasn't quite sure about one of them. Well guess what?

One was a girl and there are 10 little rat babies born just a couple of hours ago.

Mom was really surprised!!! But they are very cute in all their little pinkness.

MOM SENT OUT THE SECRET PAWS PRESENTS!!!!WOOHOO!!!!!! ~Poiland Tribe

Saturday, March 18, 2006

Mom has devised a new way to torture me. It is called the bunny torture device. It fastens under my chin and around my chest and there is a long cord attatched to it. Mom says it is a "harness", but I know better. I hate it. It is horrible.

She put it on me yesterday and if that wasn't enough, then she took me to the VET where they did unspeakable things, so I ate my health record that was laying on the same table I was on, but then they said I was very healthy. Thank goodness. I hate to think what they do to you if you aren't healthy.

I'm behind the couch today and refusing to come out. Fig also went to the VET and was given a "clean bill of health". He is soothing himself by sleeping on a cinnamon roll. He claims it is his reward. For what I don't know. I didn't get a reward.

Ko Ko is feeling better.

Mom has all of the Secret Paws presents wrapped up and ready to mail out. They are very tasty looking.

We are all going to miss Moses Kitty. Hopefully he can post with an update and let us all know how he is doing.

Bad Bunny Burns Report-14 March 2006

Dear Fellow Fluffies,

Being a Bad Bunny Burns is EXHAUSTING. Yes, even I have to sleep sometimes. Here I have grabbed some half-shuteye under the bakers rack.

I have found out that I am a bunny of GREAT PERSUASION, and all this takes is some persistence.

I finally got Mom to understand that I favor being a couch bunny and access to the couch, even if it means climbing up there using her drum, is a must when I am out. Also, I need my purple blankie up there waiting for me so I have "my own space". She has been very accomodating. However, my greatest feat of PERSUASION so far has been Merlin...let me explain.

The other day Mom let me out in a small run area where there is a gaily coloured fence to keep me in a small space and not all over. I wanted to make a point that this IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

So while Mom was busy I PERSUADED Merlin to sit in the "gaily coloured" enclosure, and I jumped all the way to the couch and sat until we could be noticed. As proof I have a picture, which Mom took to help me prove my point and remind her that I prefer the couch over the small area.

Yes, it was a bunny day of victory.

Binkies,

Rabbie Burns

Hello Fellow Fluffie Bloggers,

I had a VET appointmentcheckup on Friday and I am sooper happy to report that I was given an A++. According to the VET I am doing great. (I could have told her that)

I am even gaining weight back. Instead of being 1 lb. 5 oz., this week I am 1 lb 6.5 oz. I am returning to my fluffy self.

Well, that is all folks, for now. Have a great weekend.

Ford and Arthur Take a Trip, Part One

It all started when Arthur saw the pink VW Bug. It was just perfect-the right size, the windows were open, there was plenty of room to move-this was it. Now they could drive.

Ford called shotgun........

.............while Arthur drove.

After tooling around the Greater Condo Area taking in the sights, they decided it was best if they found a place to stay for the night. Arthur stopped at the Couch Inn and check them in.

Arthur unloaded the trunk.................

......................while Ford disembarked out the passenger side window.

To be continued..................

Fig Update....

I am feeling well enough to post an update myself. I had surgery Friday, but I'm feeling much better. I haven't figured out how to get this sticky stuff off of my jaw yet, so I can clean out my sore, but there is still time.

I'm a little high from the pain meds, but this is my last day on them. Mom said something to the effect of me already being a gold lined rat, so she wasn't paying for a pain med addiction too. I'm not sure what that means, but I figured I better enjoy while I could. :)

Mom is giving me this other stuff in yogurt too. She said it was Aunti Biotic's stuff but I don't have an Auntie Biotic, so it must be someone else's Aunty. I just like the yogurt. Mom's says it will make me feel all better, and she must be right, because I already feel like running around and going back to my old condo. I know Georgie must miss me since I am such a sterling roommate, but I have to wait still Mom says. (I don't like the little cage I'm in. I barely have room to stretch out.)

The Vet said I was a little heavy, 1 pound 5 ouces, but I've recently lost weight with my mouth ouchie. Dad said she was right. Mom said I was just big boned. I love my Mom.

Bad Bunny Burns Report...

Hello fellow bloggers,

I wanted to keep you updated with my work of course. This week has been very busy. I am a busy, busy bun trying to keep up with all that goes on here

Chewed:

1. Styrofoam box holding Kinsey kitten's chess set. I very nicely decorated under her bed with the pieces, but this WAS NOT appreciated. I had no idea my 'beans hated art.

2. Mom's pattern. I only chewed the unimportant parts.

3. Mom's shirt. It was meant in love.

4. Mom's decorative baskets holding junk. Now she can just toss the junk and have a less cluttered look about the house.

5. Mom's decorative broom. Brooms are for sweeping.

6. Four book covers. The books look better without them...really.

Mom says I have to put this: I will not throw my brush at Mom when I want groomed. It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

Fig Surgery...

Wednesday I found a lump on Fig's jaw that was quite big and hard. It had appeared fairly quickly, although his appetite had been off since we came back from vacation. I made a vet appointment hoping that they could drain it if it was an abcess. We got in on THursday and the vet said it could be an abcess or a tumor, and they could perform a surgery to remove it and see which it was. So Fig had surgery this morning.

I'm happy to report that it was an abcess and not cancer, which the vet thought it might be. However, she couldn't get all of the abcess because it broke when she tried to remove it and it had eaten in a bit on his jaw muscle so she had to remove a tiny bit of that.

Fig came through the surgery with flying colours and is now sitting around like he is in a lot of pain. His head tilts to the side, but I think that is from the pain and from the surgical glue they used to close the abcess site. She couldn't leave it open like is preferred with abcesses because of the work on the muscle, so I have to watch Fig really close to see if it comes back.

If the abcess does come back, she said she will lance it and leave it open this time. However we are hoping that a round of antibiotics will do the trick and clear it up. I'm hoping Fig doesn't have to go under anesthetic again. That is so hard on the little ones. I also have pain meds for him for the next couple of days. So he will be taking antibiotics and pain meds.

The little guy is sleeping and trying to get comfortable. He had gone both 1 and 2 since the surgery so his insides are working good. The vet wouldn't let him come home until he had. However, he did turn his nose up at the chunk of banana nut muffin she gave him. He prefers chocolate.
